Biographies Format Types
If you are writing a biography, then chances are that you have already encountered the term “Biography formats”. What is a format? How can it help you?
Biographical writing has traditionally been done by hand, which was a painstaking task. But with computer-aided tools, biographers have the ability to produce their work in an easy to manage format. This means that they don’t have to worry about what the word processor will do or what the software will do. Their job now is just to turn those words into an easily readable document that will tell their story.
There are two basic types of biographies formats, but not all biographers use them. The first is called MLA format and the other is known as APA format. If you are writing a book for publication, then you will need to follow the rules that are set by the publishing houses.
However, if you are writing an article for your website, then you can choose to use any one of the various biographies formats that are available. Here’s a look at each of the three basic biographies formats:
The MLA format is used primarily in the United States and is often used in African American studies. It is designed for a single writer who is working on one manuscript. It follows a standard format that uses commas, paragraphs, and paragraphs. The rules are generally the same as the MLA but there may be some variations between different publishers.
The Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) is used in all North-American newspapers except in South Africa and in the Johannesburg newspaper. It has the following rules for biographies. The first paragraph of the first sentence of the introduction should be in CAPS, or curly braces. The author’s name and date should be given in the last paragraph of the first sentence.
Another popular type of biographies is called the APA format and is most commonly used for academic papers and publications. The APA uses three basic categories to describe the style. The first category includes the type of publication where the work is being published, whether the work is for a single author or for a publication such as a journal or a book. The second category includes the number of authors who wrote the article and whether the work is a monograph.
The third category is for whether the publication is an edition of a larger publication or if it is a compilation of several publications. The fourth category is the language in which the article is published. Finally, the fifth category is where the author and publisher are specified. So, a publication with six contributors would fall under the APA category.
Biographies with more than one author are known as a trilogy. If the author is listed only once, the first author’s biographical information appears on the front matter of the book. If multiple authors are listed, the names appear on the inside cover and inside the pages of the book.
If you write an eBook, the format to use is the same as that for your articles. But you will also be allowed to include other sources of information besides biographies. Your source of information and the name of your sources.
Finally, a very unique format is the E-Book. These books do not use the normal biographies format and are often referred to as eBooks because of this. They are written in electronic form and are considered to be an original work of literature. In addition to containing information about the author and the subject matter, they contain other material. As an example, you might include a biography of the person who wrote the book, an account of their life, and an index.
E-Books have become extremely popular and have a number of benefits over the traditional books. They can be downloaded for free and are easy to print, meaning you can distribute to people all over the world. The copyright issues surrounding the traditional format can be eliminated since the information is protected electronically.
