Writing an Argument Article
The first thing you want to do before writing an argument article is to have a point in mind. You want to be clear on what you want to argue, and you want to be clear on what you do not want to argue. You do not want to leave yourself with a dilemma when the time comes to write. You should also make sure your argument is written with facts and figures in mind, but not to the point of being boring. If you cannot think of a point of view then there are a few things you can do to prepare your article before you begin.
First, you will want to supply evidence in the form of information, rather than providing a thesis or making claims. When doing your research, keep in mind the point of your article that you are presenting. A good thesis statement is also the one that stays in a particular scope.
Writing an argument does not mean you must be boring. It simply means that you need to present data in the form of data and information that will support your point of view. You do not want to be using words like “I”, “you”he”. The reader should have a clear understanding of what they are reading about.
Second, you will need to consider what you will put into your article. The reader of your article will want to know what you are going to say about it, so you should present both sides.
When you start writing an article, you may feel you have no chance to give your opinion. However, you should consider the fact that the reader of your article may not even have the opportunity to read all of your articles if they do not read yours. Therefore, you want to make sure you give them something that they can use or look over.
Third, you may find yourself having a hard time convincing the reader. This does not necessarily mean your reader is stupid. You may feel that your reader is looking for a reason to reject your points, or that they do not care. But you have to think before writing your article.
Fourth, you may find that your article is too long. The article may sound like a laundry list, or sound like a bunch of information. To avoid this, shorten it down by adding brief statements and adding citations.
Writing an argument is a great way to show readers you have an opinion. By taking these four simple steps, you can get started and begin writing an article that will not only make your article interesting to your readers, but that will be effective.
When writing an article, you will want to think about your reader. Do you need to convince them or just inform them? You will have a harder time if you are writing an article that just tells the reader what to do.
After you have written your argument and you have everything prepared, you can now get into the nitty gritty of the article and start creating a good thesis statement. The thesis statement is the one thing that holds the title of the article together. If you do not come up with a good thesis statement, the article is just a series of bullet points and little information that will not hold the reader’s attention.
After you have written a good thesis statement, you can now write your conclusion. The conclusion must hold the reader’s interest and convince them that what you are saying is true and that you are speaking from facts and not opinion. When you come to your conclusion, you should also include citations so that the reader can verify that your information is accurate.
Finally, you should proofread your article and make sure that it is not confusing. Always check your arguments for grammatical errors, spelling errors and spelling mistakes.
